"Fantastic food, terrific games, and fun activities for children of all ages... it's a great day that's sure to be a hit with the entire family."

There is no admission charge, and all activities and shows are free! In the event of rain, Trappe Community Day will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

We are looking for area businesses like these generous sponsors to support this event. Fill out a Sponsorship Form and, as a sponsor, you would be eligible to participate in the festivities. Tax Information

So you just paid your tax bill and want to know where your money went? Surprisingly, many of the taxes collected by Trappe Borough are collected on behalf of other taxing authorities and do not go to the borough at all. Check out this guide to where the tax bills collected by Trappe Borough go.

Volunteers Needed

Through many years of planning, Rambo Park was considered to be a gem waiting to be polished. Now, much polishing has been accomplished, and Rambo Park is a wonderful addition to the borough. But, a little more still remains to be done.

The recently established landscape beds, butterfly gardens, and wildflower gardens require attention, and additional gardens may still be established. Trappe Borough is seeking volunteers to share their gardening talents to ensure that Rambo Park remains a polished gem. If you are interested, contact Borough Hall at 610.489.7181.

Council Agendas Now Online

Trappe Borough has begun posting agendas for upcoming Borough Council meetings online. Agendas can be found on the same page as meeting minutes.

Trappe Borough is among the very few Pennsylvania municipalities to have adopted a multi-year budget. And better still, the budget is balanced for all five years! Trappe Borough is the only Montgomery County municipality to win this prestigious award during the last decade, and only the second municipality in the five-county region to do so during this same period.

2010 Changes in Bulk Item Collection

The Borough has signed a waste and recyclable collection contract that will keep the current hauler, BFI-Allied Waste, working in Trappe until at least June 2013. The deal provides weekly service to Borough homeowners at no additional cost. And, the long-term contract saves taxpayers more than $40,000 in 2010 alone. BFI-Allied Waste offers single-stream recycling and will likewise provide for the annual collection of holiday trees.

The sole change in 2010 service comes with the collection of bulk items. Beginning this month, bulk items will be collected on the last collection day of each month rather than just once a quarter. Residents will be permitted to dispose of only one bulk item per month, however. Residents who wish to dispose of more than one bulk item per month may contract for this service with BFI-Allied Waste. There is a $35 fee per additional bulk item collected; this fee is $60 for each bulk item that possesses Freon.

For more information please contact Borough Hall at (610) 489-7181.
