Trappe Borough Top Five FAQs

When the telephone rings at Trappe Borough Hall, these are the top five questions asked by callers (according to Administrative Assistant extraordinaire Dianne Green):

Q: When are trash and recyclable materials collected?

A: Trash and recyclables are collected every Wednesday morning. If Wednesday is a holiday, trash is collected on the following day (Thursday).

Q: Am I required to separate recyclable materials?

A: No. Trappe Borough is proud to offer single-stream recycling. Click here to learn more.

Q: Do I need a permit for electrical work?

A: Trappe Borough does not issue permits for electrical work. However, if you are adding a new electrical service, or extending or otherwise altering an existing electrical service, the work must be reviewed and certified by a third party inspector.

Q: What is the maximum fence height, and can a fence be installed on my property line?

A: A fence can be up to six feet tall when located in a side yard or rear yard, and up to four feet tall when located in a front yard. And while the Borough does not require a fence to be setback from a property line, the Borough strongly recommends installing your fence at least one foot removed from the property line.

Q: Am I (or where am I) registered to vote?

A: The official voter registration rolls are maintained by the Montgomery County Board of Voter Services. The Board may be contacted at 610-278-3280. Other information about voting, including time and location, can be found here.
