Parks and Open Space in Trappe, Pennsylvania

Trappe Borough has two municipal parks:
  • In back of Trappe Borough Hall at 525 West Main Street is playground for younger children. This park is located in the middle of town and easily accessible by sidewalk for many residents.
  • Water Works Park is a 17-acre site maintained jointly with the borough of Collegeville. The park includes fields for baseball and soccer, a playground, trails, and a large pavilion area. Water Works Park is the location of the annual Trappe Days and Grange Fair events. It is open to residents at anytime in daylight hours without charge. The Park can be reserved for larger groups by arrangement with the Public Works office by calling 610-489-2831.

In addition, Trappe Borough owns two additional open spaces that are being evaluated for use as park:
  • Main Street Park: Located on the western edge of the borough next to the Community Music School, the 6.5 acre Main Street Park is currently undeveloped and in the earliest stages of planning. Tentatively, this area may be used for active recreation such as ball fields.
  • Rambo Park: Located on 5th Avenue across from the Fire Station, Rambo Park will provide passive recreation areas (e.g. nature trails). A $200,000 grant from the PA DCNR was received in 2006 to help fund this park and county funding has also been applied for. A request for proposals is being prepared for designs of this park.

In March, 2007, the Trappe Borough Council included a resident survey in the borough newsletter, focusing on open space and recreation in the borough. This information will be used to guide all development of recreation spaces in the borough.
