Trash, Recycling, and Compost Services in Trappe borough

Trappe Borough is proud to provide comprehensive trash, recycling, and compost services to its residents. This services are made available at no cost to all residents living at properties possessing four or fewer residential units.

Trash Collection

Trappe Borough provides weekly trash collection to all residential properties possessing four or fewer residential units. The Borough's trash contractor is Allied Waste. Residents are permitted to place up to three (3) 30-gallon trash containers at the curb each week.

Recycling

Trappe Borough likewise provides weekly recycling collection to all residential properties possessing four or fewer residential units. The Borough's recyclable contractor is Allied Waste. Residents are permitted to place one (1) special recycling container at the curb each week. Recycling containers are available at Borough Hall, at a cost of $15.

Trappe Borough provides "single-stream" recycling so that residents do not need to separate recyclables. A complete list of acceptable recyclables can be found here.

Schedule

Weekly trash and recycling collections occur on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 AM.

Bulk Pick-up

Trappe Borough provides bulk-item pick-up to all residential properties possessing four or fewer residential units. Bulk pick-ups occur on the last Wednesday of each month, when one bulk item may be put out.

Hazardous Materials

Montgomery County provides for the collection of various household hazardous materials such as paint thinners, computers, and mercury thermometers. Call (610) 278-3618 or visit www.wsaemc.org for more information and schedules.

Compost

The boroughs of Trappe and Collegeville maintain a compost facility at 333 West 7th Avenue, near the intersection of Borough Line Road. Residents of either borough may deliver leaves, grass clippings, tree trimmings, Christmas trees, and similar materials at no cost, and upon showing proof of residency (i.e., a valid Pennsylvania driver's license). Tree stumps are not accepted. Mulch created at the compost facility is free to all persons.
